Governance Setting: Block Creating New Records Unless Matched
This article explains the function and impact of the Group Governance Salesforce setting, Block Creating New Records Unless Matched. To learn more about the configuration of Group Governance settings, please view the following article: Managing Governance Settings.
Note: This setting only applies to users integrated with Salesforce.
What it Does
Admins can require accounts and contacts captured in LeadIQ by specific user groups to first match with an existing CRM record before being imported into Salesforce. Alternatively, Admins can provision specific user groups permission to create new records if an imported contact doesn't automatically match with an existing CRM record (based on configured Record Matching settings).
Why it is Important
This setting allows Admins to elevate their data quality by reducing duplicates that might otherwise be created by various LeadIQ users. By requiring a record to exist in the CRM before specific user groups can import LeadIQ data into Salesforce, Admins can proactively avoid duplicates and promote CRM hygiene.
How it Works
Admins can choose to require account and contact data captured by specific user groups to match existing CRM records before allowing it to be imported into Salesforce as a new object. This requirement must align with the Automatic Record Matching configurations based on rules involving region, country, and record owner.
