Account Tracking in Salesforce - Universal Credits

Universal Credits (UC) is a system designed to simplify and standardize how data is consumed across various LeadIQ products. This guide explains how UC works for Account Tracking, including consumption rules, important settings to configure and common scenarios.

Consumption of credits

Universal credits are consumed in the following instances:

  • Person data
    • UCs will be charged only for Email or Phone or Email & Phone data points for a contact and is based on the user's data plan and/or user-defined selection.

Note: Account tracking does not enrich Company information.

Universal credits will not be consumed for RUM records or Signals (such as Job Changes, Title Changes, Departures, and Account Events).

Settings

When creating a scheduled job users will have to select one of the following for Contact Data Preferences:

  • Email only
    • Only emails will be returned.
    • No phone numbers will be returned even if present.
    • If we find a Contact for which we cannot find an email:
      • We do not return any information for that Contact (including the ‘signal’ like job change or title change).
      • We charge 0 UC for that Contact.
  • Phone only
    • Only phones will be returned.
    • No emails will be returned even if present.
    • If we find a Contact for which we cannot find a phone:
      • We do not return any information for that Contact (including the ‘signal’ like job change or title change).
      • We charge 0 UC for that Contact.
  • Email and Phone
    • Provide both emails and phone numbers for Contact.
    • If we find a Contact for which we find both email and phone:
      • We charge 1 UC
    • If we find a Contact for which we find email but no phone or vice versa:
      • We return Email only
      • We charge 1 UC

Note: There are user-defined consumption limits so users do not burn through their credits unintentionally.

Common Scenarios

LeadIQ finds 3 people at the same Company from an account tracking job. These contacts do not exist and are created. The customer does not use our enrichment features so they have never enriched any records.

    • RUM Status: Person - Non-RUM
    • UC Charged:
      • Person data = 3 UCs
    • Notes: Person is now considered RUM.

Insufficient Credits

When an Account Tracking job runs, the maximum # of universal credits required to run the job is first calculated, and the customer account is checked to confirm that this number of credits is available to be reserved. In case of insufficient credits, the job will not run, and an error indicating insufficient credits will be added to the transaction log.
