Welcome to the LeadIQ Prospecting Hub Best Practices and FAQ guide! LeadIQ will help you find, capture, and organize your prospects so you can focus on what you do best - prospecting and selling. This guide was created to help you learn how to troubleshoot frequently asked questions with the LeadIQ Extension.
Below is a list of what we’ll be covering in this document. If we are unable to answer your question here please visit the LeadIQ Help Center or contact support for additional assistance by emailing support@leadiq.com.
Setting Up your LeadIQ Account
Download the LeadIQ Chrome extension
- When you sign-up for your LeadIQ account you will be prompted to download the LeadIQ chrome extension.
- It is recommended to pin LeadIQ to your bar so that it is easily accessible anytime you are prospecting.
Connect your integrations
- Navigate to the bottom left of the LeadIQ webpage and hover over your initials in the gray circle and click on ‘Integrations’.
- Click the ‘Connect’ button for your CRM and/or Sales Engagement platforms. You will be prompted to login to your account and allow LeadIQ access to your system. Once connected you will see a checkmark on the top of right of the integration like in the screenshot below.
- Configuration for your integrations is handled by your LeadIQ Administrator on the backend, all you need to do is connect the integration for your account.
- Please refer to this support article for more information: Connecting LeadIQ to your Sales Tools
Review your individual extension settings
- You can access your individual extension settings by carrot dropdown on the top left corner.
- Some of these settings may be governed by your LeadIQ Administrator. Please reach out to your LeadIQ Administrator if you have any additional questions.
Best Practices for using the LeadIQ Extension
What to keep in mind when Getting Started
- Confirm your LeadIQ platform account and all relevant integrations are set up (ie. Salesforce, Outreach, Salesloft, or Hubspot). See instructions above or contact your LeadIQ Administrator if you need help setting up your account and connecting your integrations.
- When prospecting with the LeadIQ extension we recommend you start fresh with a new browser window.
- Avoid keeping multiple tabs of LinkedIn or LinkedIn Sales Navigator open, performance may be diminished as the extension may be training to reach multiple tabs.
- Always keep your chrome browser up to date.
Troubleshooting Slow Performance or Failure to Load
- Clear your browser cache
- Uninstall the extension and reinstall
- Restart your computer
- If these are unable to resolve your issue contact support for additional assistance by emailing support@leadiq.com.
Frequently Asked Questions
My leads are not syncing to my integrations (ie. Salesforce, Outreach, Salesloft, Hubspot)
- Look for the “Capture Successful” sync status on your prospect in the extension. Additionally the white checkmarks on your integrations will indicate that this prospect was saved successfully. Please refer to this support article for more information: Viewing Sync Statuses in the Prospector Extension
- Confirm you have your integrations connected. At the top of the extension you will see icons for your integrations if they have been connected to your LeadIQ account:
- If you don’t see the “Capture Successful” sync status then check your integrations icons for a red or yellow dot. This will indicate that the prospect did not sync properly.
- You can hover over the icon and LeadIQ will tell you why this prospect was not synced. the notification bell on the top right corner of the LeadIQ extension.
- If there was a technical issue or error you will be prompted to check your notification bell on the top right corner of the extension.
- Your LeadIQ Administrator may have restricted which types of emails are able to be sync to the CRM (e.g., only “verified” emails are allowed to sync). You can also see these settings inside of the extension settings by clicking the carrot dropdown on the top left corner.
How do I know if an email is Verified?
- LeadIQ will verify emails as you are capturing your prospects. We will show a symbol next to the email with our confidence level (hover over the icon to see more):
- Please see this support article to learn more about email verification: What do the verification symbols next to the emails mean?
Can I still capture a prospect and save to my integrations if the email is not Verified?
- Yes! If your LeadIQ Administrator has blocked certain types of emails from being exported from the extension you can still export your prospects from your LeadIQ Lists.
- You can view sync statuses yourself. Please see this support article for more information: Viewing Sync Statuses in Lists
- You can also export from your LeadIQ Lists into your integrations. Use the filters on the left of the list to narrow down your prospects based on email status as well as phone status, select your prospects, and then click on the “Export” button at the top of the list to manually push to your integrations.
How do I report bad data?
- If you have a few pieces of incorrect contact data you can report it in your LeadIQ Lists via our Data Police feature. Please see this support article for more information: Using the Data Police to Report Bad Data
- If you have a list of Verified emails that bounced our Support team can investigate this for you and will respond with an outcome of our investigation. Please contact our support team directly by emailing them at support@leadiq.com.
- If you encounter an account showing incorrect domains you can create a support ticket for our support and data teams to investigate and correct for you. Please contact our support team directly by emailing them at support@leadiq.com.
Can I update current prospects in my CRM or sales engagement tools?
- One-click updates (ability to update email or phone information inside of the CRM or sales engagement tool) are currently only available through the extension.
- The ability to update current records in your integrations will be determined by your LeadIQ Administrator. In most cases you will be able to update current records when there is missing information that LeadIQ can provide. This update will happen upon capturing from the extension.
- Please contact your LeadIQ Administrator to understand how your account is set-up to update current records.
What does the yellow caution triangle on the Salesforce cloud mean?
- When you see a yellow caution triangle on the Salesforce cloud or Outreach icon this means that there is a manual action you need to take prior to saving your prospects to your CRM and/or sales engagement tool.
- Most often you will see this when there are multiple matching accounts in your systems (eg. multiple accounts with the same domain). However, you may see this in the event there are multiple matching prospects with the same name and company.
- You will need to select the correct record before you can sync to your integrations by hovering over the Salesforce icon and selecting it from there.
- This will show the same as described above on the Outreach icon in the event there are multiple matching accounts
What are credits in LeadIQ?
- In the LeadIQ platform, credits are the currency you use to unlock lead information. Some information is more valuable than others, so we provide different credit types to reflect that.
- The two credit types available in LeadIQ are Standard and Premium. Standard credits are used toward work emails and work phone numbers, vehicle Premium credits are used toward mobile phone numbers. Please see this support article for more information: Credits Overview
