Setting You Up for Prospecting Success
Welcome to the LeadIQ Scribe Best Practices and FAQ guide! With Scribe, outbound sales teams can now personalize cold outreach at scale without sacrificing quality. This guide was created to help you learn how to troubleshoot frequently asked questions with Scribe.

Setting Up LeadIQ Scribe
Configure the Scribe extension in your Sales Engagement Platform
- LeadIQ Scribe can be used directly within your email tasks in Outreach, Salesloft, and Gmail. You will need to enable your integrations by navigating to the “Scribe” tab in the LeadIQ web page and clicking on the Settings gear on the top right of the page.
- From the Settings page you can navigate to “Chrome Extension Configuration” at the button of the page. Add a check to your sales engagement platform and/or Gmail and then click on the “Update Permissions” button
Best Practices for using LeadIQ Scribe
What to keep in mind when Getting Started
- Confirm your LeadIQ platform account and all relevant integrations are set up (ie. Salesforce, Outreach, Salesloft, or Hubspot). Contact your Manager or LeadIQ Administrator if you need help setting up your account and connecting your integrations.
- When using LeadIQ Scribe (in-app or extension) we recommend you start fresh with a new browser window.
- Always keep your chrome browser up to date.
Troubleshooting Slow Performance or Failure to Load
- Clear your browser cache
- Uninstall the LeadIQ extension and reinstall
- Restart your computer

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I use Scribe to create a personalized email?
- Creating your personalized message is easy and only takes a few steps:
- Select or add your prospect’s information. In-app you can simply input an email or select from the list shown. If you are using the extension in Outreach or Salesloft we will auto-load your prospect’s details for you.
- Select your Value Proposition. Here is where you should highlight a specific message you use in your prospecting, whether that is about your product or about a challenge you solve for.
- Select your Insights. Browse and choose up to 3 Insights you want to use to personalize your messages.
- Click the “Get Messages” button and our Scribe AI will generate 3 personalized message drafts.

Is Scribe in the Outreach/Salesloft/Gmail Extension the same as the web app?
- You will be able to generate messages in either the web application or the extension within your sales engagement platform or Gmail message. You will be able to select from the same Value Propositions and Insights.
- To use the extension in your emails you simply need to click on the green “iQ” icon on the right side of the email and the extension will pop-up on the right or left side of your email depending on which application you open it up with.
How do I add my Scribe message to the body of my email?
- If you are generating messages in the LeadIQ web application you will need to copy your message and then paste it into your email. You can simply click the “Copy Message to Clipboard” button and then paste where you’d like.
- If you are generating messages from the Outreach/Salesloft/Gmail extension you simply need to click the “Add to Email” button.
How do I train the AI to create better messages and sound more like me?
- We love to hear your feedback! For each message created you have the option to 👍 or 👎 and you can also edit the messages inline. We strongly encourage you to do that as the Scribe AI learns every time you provide feedback.
Does Scribe generate subject lines?
- Yes, when you 👍a message or click the “Add to Email”/”Copy Message to Clipboard” buttons the AI will generate 3 subject line recommendations related to your email.
- You can easily copy or add the subject lines to your emails by clicking the “Add to Subject” button in the extension.
What do I do if I don’t like the messages that Scribe generated?
- If you did not like any of the generated messages, you can also click on the "Regenerate Messages" button on the bottom right to receive 3 new personalized messages.
Can I create personalized messages in other languages?
- Yes, before you hit the “Get Messages” button you can select which language you would like to create your messages with. We currently support English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
Why am I being asked to input my prospect’s details?
- If you did not capture a prospect with the LeadIQ extension, sometimes you may be asked to insert their details including their Name, Title, Location, and LinkedIn. You can resolve this by filling out the details yourself, or navigating to the LeadIQ prospector extension and capturing that prospect.
