Why is Company Size reported as a range but exported as a single number?

Situation: When we receive the Company Size from LinkedIn, it may appear as a range such as 1001-5000 employees, or 201-500 employees, but when exported to Salesforce it is stored as 1001 or 201.

This is because we receive the range from LinkedIn, but Salesforce is expecting a single number.  Due to that discrepancy, we must export the data in the expected format.

Solution: You can create a custom field mapping in the Salesforce integration for:  “Company Size(Text)“. Mapping that Custom Field will allow it to store the range as text, instead of the lower number of the range.

The following is the standardized list of ranges returned for Company Size:

  • 1-10 employees
  • 11-50 employees
  • 51-200 employees
  • 201-500 employees
  • 501-1000 employees
  • 1001-5000 employees
  • 5001-10,000 employees
  • 10,001+ employees
