Contact Tracking Setup (v1.62 and later)

First, tell us which contacts you'd like to track

You'll be creating a dynamic report of the people for whom you'd like to track job changes, title changes and departures. Contact Tracking will then run this report at a configurable timeframe of your choosing such as monthly or weekly.

As this is a dynamic report, it is not a static list of specific individuals who will be tracked. You'll specify the criteria of the people you want to track in the report, and when Contact Tracking runs the report each month, the people who happen to fit those criteria at that time are the people who will be tracked.

1. Create a Salesforce Dynamic Report with the following columns

  • Row Id (Either Contact Row Id or Lead Row Id)
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Company Name
  • Website
  • Title
  • Email (optional)
  • LinkedIn URL (optional)

2. Ensure that the input fields you are using in the Report are mapped correctly

This is documented separately here: https://leadiqhelp.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/21767248202523-Mapping-Input-Fields-in-Contact-Tracking

3. Enter the Report into Contact Tracking

  1. Open the report that you would like to use as your source report for Contact Tracking
  2. Copy the URL of that report
  3. Find and click LeadIQ Refresh or just LeadIQ in the Salesforce App Launcher
  4. Click the Track tabScreenshot 2024-01-04 at 11.26.14.png
  5. Click + Create New Job
  6. Paste the report URL into the Report URL field
  7. Set the Frequency, Start Date and Time

4. LeadIQ will process and deliver the job changes, title changes and departures asynchronously

This will take up to 24 hours (can process faster depending on a range of factors including volume). Once that time has elapsed, you can check to see what results were detected for your contacts.

  1. Find and click IQ Contact Tracking in the Salesforce App Launcher
  2. Here you will see job changes, which are delivered to you in the form of a new custom object that's been added to your Salesforce, the IQ Contact Tracking object
  3. Each IQ Contact Tracking record corresponds to a job change that occurred for one of your contactsScreenshot 2024-01-04 at 13.43.13.png

5. Now, operationalize the data

  • The goal is not for your end users to use or interact with these IQ Contact Tracking records. These are just the raw materials of Contact Tracking.
  • LeadIQ ships a default Lightning Flows included with the package which are deactivated by default. You can find these under Setup > Flows. It is named "IQ Contact Tracking Automation". Screenshot 2024-01-04 at 15.44.16.png
  • These are record triggered flows that run whenever an IQ Contact Tracking record is created. You can use these default Flows as jumping off points and modify them to meet your specific needs.
